After I’d been playing for about 8 years, and had played a lot, recorded and gigged with a load of different bands playing different styles and sounds, I decided to accept the offer of being someone’s teacher.

That was in 2010 and I’ve been enjoying developing my take on teaching since then, and loving it!

   – Grade 5 Pitched Music Theory certificate,

   – Level 5 National Diploma in session musicianship taught at the British Academy of New Music in London.

   – Grade 5 piano certificate.

I am also a keen and gigging keyboard player and pianist which is invaluable in the application of skills needed to be a musician pursuing their practice attentively.

Whether new to drums and keen to have a go, experienced in the field of percussion and wanting to improve technique or versatility, working on a certain technique, or just wanting to have fun, I can help you get involved now.

We can work on reading music, music theory, limb independence creative expression. This can be done over a long course of lessons, or with just a few.

I teach from my studio just off Glocouster Road, Bristol. Home lessons in Bristol are available for a small extra travel cost, but studio lessons are recommended.
 
Getting a set of lessons for a Christmas present for someone? A block of four 1 hour lessons, for a month is only £100 if purchased before the end of the year!
 

Workshops

I run percussion workshops in three levels – beginner, intermediate.

Beginner for a great time and a taster, ideal for friends trying it out and having a laugh, and kids under 12.

Intermediate for experienced percussionists wanting to meet new percussionists for projects, focus on some new styles, and try feels and time signatures.

Have you ever thought of using rhythm lessons workshops as a way of connecting with people, learning together in a pair or small group? Even for big events, it can be great fun.

All you need is a location, and I can come to you with the equipment we need for the session. Just let me know how many people are coming and I can make sure we’ve got everything we need!

Rates depend on location and duration but can be as little as £95 for a large group.
